12 More Narcotics Packets Seized off Gujarat Coast

Bhuj: In a fresh seizure along the Kutch coast, security agencies recovered multiple packets of charas from coastal areas of Lakhpat taluka. Ten packets were found at Sugar Bet near Narayan Sarovar during a Border Security Force (BSF) patrol, while two additional packets were recovered from the Rapargarh coast by the Jakhau police.

The BSF team detected the 10 unclaimed packets during routine patrolling around noon on May 4. The seized consignment was later handed over to the Narayan Sarovar police for further action. Meanwhile, the Jakhau police registered a separate case after recovering two similar packets from the Rapargarh beach.

Police officials said the seized narcotics will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for testing.

The latest recovery comes amid a series of similar seizures reported from coastal areas of Kutch in recent weeks. Earlier, 20 packets of charas were found abandoned near Khidrat Island and the Shialbhara area of Abdasa, while seven packets were recovered from the Panchotia coast in Mandvi taluka. Another 10 packets were seized from Motapir Bet.

Authorities suspect that the narcotics may have washed ashore or been abandoned along the coastline, and investigations are underway to trace their origin and possible links to smuggling networks. DeshGujarat
