ACB Gujarat Nabs City Survey Office Staffer in Bribery Case

Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed a government staffer in Olpad of Surat district in a bribery case involving a sum of ₹3,000.
The accused, Nileshbhai Balubhai Pandav, was posted as a Sheristadar, a Class-3 employee, at the City Survey Office in Olpad.
According to ACB officials, the complainant had submitted three applications along with the necessary documents to include his client’s name in a property card. The accused allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹1,000 per application, totalling ₹3,000, for processing and certifying the records.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB and lodged a complaint. Based on this, a trap was laid by the ACB team. During the operation, the accused allegedly engaged in a conversation with the complainant and accepted the bribe amount of ₹3,000 in the open passage outside the chamber of the City Survey Superintendent in Olpad.
He was caught red-handed, and the entire amount was recovered from him. Further investigation into the case is underway. DeshGujarat
