May 05, 2026
Ahmedabad: Gujarat ranked third in the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), drawing inflows worth $4,990.89 million (₹44,041.7 crore) between April and December 2025, according to data released by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
During the nine-month period, the state trailed Maharashtra and Karnataka. Although Gujarat regained its position among the top five states after a dip in the April–September 2025 period, its share in India’s total FDI inflows declined.
DPIIT data showed that FDI inflows into Gujarat fell by 19.3% year-on-year, compared to $5,565.53 million (₹46,687.04 crore) recorded during the same period last year.
Maharashtra retained the top spot with inflows of $15,387.46 million, followed by Karnataka at $11,159.09 million. Gujarat was followed by Tamil Nadu ($3,890.65 million) and Haryana ($3,844.48 million), completing the top five.
Within the state, Ahmedabad remained the leading investment hub, attracting $2,631.40 million—more than half of Gujarat’s total inflows—while Gandhinagar recorded $66 million. DeshGujarat
