Solex Energy to Invest ₹4,000 Crore in Gujarat for Integrated Solar Cell and BESS Manufacturing Project

Surat: Solex Energy Limited, an integrated solar energy solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to establish a large-scale renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem in the state, with a proposed investment of around ₹4,000 crore, the company announced today.
The MoU was signed by Vipul Shah, Director of Solex Energy Limited, and Swaroop P, IAS, Industrial Commissioner, Government of Gujarat. The signing ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil, and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi.
Under the agreement, the company will set up a 5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility, to be developed in phases (2 GW in Phase I and 3 GW in Phase II), along with a 10 GW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility.
The project is expected to boost Gujarat’s position as a clean-tech manufacturing hub while generating employment, promoting industrial growth, and supporting India’s renewable energy targets.
