Two Dead After Drowning at Kotna Beach Near Vadodara, Seven Rescued

Vadodara: Two persons drowned while bathing at Kotna beach on the Mahisagar River near Vadodara early on May 5, while seven others from the same group were rescued.
The deceased have been identified as Jai Subodh Jobale and Krishna Vijay Rajput, both residents of the Vadodara area. According to officials, a group of nine people had gone to the riverbank when a sudden drowning incident occurred.
Local residents and rescue teams managed to save seven individuals, some of whom were able to swim and assisted others. However, two persons could not be rescued in time.
On receiving information, teams from the Nandesari police and the fire department rushed to the spot. The bodies were recovered and shifted to Gotri Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The incident triggered a tense scene in the area, with a large number of locals gathering at the site. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
