May 07, 2026
Bharuch: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday nabbed a policeman for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹60,000. The accused, Kirpalsinh Jagdishbhai Solanki, is posted as an Assistant Head Constable (Class-3) at Dahej Police Station.
According to the ACB, the complainant was associated with construction work at a private company in Dahej. On January 18, 2026, one of the complainant’s friends informed him that a staff member had suffered a heart attack and was taken to a hospital in Jolva village, where he was declared dead during treatment.
Following the incident, an accidental death case was registered at Dahej Police Station, and its investigation was being handled by the accused constable.
Later, when the deceased employee’s family members approached the Dahej Gram Panchayat to obtain a death certificate, the Talati asked them to submit copies of the accidental death report and post-mortem note. When the complainant contacted the accused policeman for these documents, he allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh.
After negotiations, the deal was settled at ₹70,000. However, as the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he approached the ACB.
Based on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap during which the accused allegedly demanded the agreed amount and, after further negotiations, accepted ₹60,000 as a bribe, following which he was caught red-handed. The ACB has registered a case, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
