AMTS Bus Hits Car, Two Bikes After ‘Brake Failure’ in Naranpura

Ahmedabad: An accident took place near Naranpura Railway Crossing Road after an AMTS bus reportedly suffered a brake failure. The bus went out of control and rammed into vehicles on the road, injuring a biker and causing panic among commuters. Police and civic authorities rushed to the spot, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

According to officials, AMTS circular route bus number 400 was travelling from Lal Darwaza to Lal Darwaza when the accident occurred near the Naranpura crossroads. The bus allegedly lost control after its brakes failed and rammed into a car and two motorcycles from behind.

The impact caused a violent collision between the vehicles, throwing one biker onto the road. The rider sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Following the incident, traffic police personnel rushed to the spot and detained the bus driver after locals intercepted him and took him to the police station. Some locals alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

However, AMTS authorities said the accident prima facie appeared to have occurred due to brake failure. The driver, identified as Bhukhan Singh, was taken to the police station, and further investigation is underway to determine whether he was intoxicated while driving.

An AMTS accident inspector also reached the scene along with a technical team from private operator Adinath Bulk Carriers Ltd to examine the bus and investigate the cause of the brake failure.

Police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. DeshGujarat
