Bhavnagar Police Nab 5 Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrant Women

Bhavnagar: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Bhavnagar has nabbed five Bangladeshi women allegedly living illegally in the city’s Bortala area. Police recovered Bangladeshi documents and SIM cards from their possession.
According to police, the women were detained during patrolling near the Chitra marketing yard after officers found their activities suspicious. During questioning, the women admitted they were Bangladeshi nationals and did not possess valid passports or visas.
Bhavnagar Rural ASP Ghanshyam Gautam said the women had reportedly come to Bhavnagar from Ahmedabad and were working as cleaners in the Chitra yard area. No Indian identity documents were found with them.
The arrested women have been identified as Pakhi Khanam (22), Reema Akhtar alias Lily (35), Lakhi Begum (35), Subarna Begum (39), and Lebina Khanam (33).
Police said technical analysis of their mobile phones will be conducted to trace their contacts and movements. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) will also assist in the investigation. Officials said no evidence linked to national security threats has surfaced so far.
