According to officials, working group meetings of BRICS member countries on economic and trade issues will be held at Mahatma Mandir on May 14 and 15. Delegates are expected to discuss trade-related matters among BRICS nations and prepare the agenda and roadmap for the upcoming BRICS summit, which is being hosted by India this year.

Subsequently, a series of meetings involving senior officials, law ministers and secretaries of BRICS member countries will be organised from May 19 to 22.

It is learnt that the Centre has issued specific instructions to the state government regarding protocol, security arrangements and event preparations for the international meetings. In response, the administrations and police departments of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar have been directed to remain on high alert and ensure all arrangements are in place for the high-level visits and conferences.
