Surat Ready Mix Concrete manufacturers raise prices, announce stricter payment rules
May 10, 2026
Surat: Manufacturers of ready-mix concrete in Surat have announced a hike in prices from June 1.
The RMC Association Surat has decided to increase the rate of ready-mix concrete by Rs 200 per cubic metre, citing a sharp rise in the cost of labour, chemicals, sand, gravel and other raw materials.
The decision was taken during the association’s general meeting. According to the association, operating plants at the existing rate of Rs 3,200 per cubic metre had become financially unviable due to rising input costs. The new rate has been fixed at Rs 3,400 per cubic metre.
The association said labour costs have emerged as one of the biggest challenges for the industry recently.
Along with the price revision, the association has also introduced stricter payment rules for builders and contractors. Under the new system, customers will be required to clear payments within 45 days.
If payment is not received within the stipulated period, supply to the concerned builder or contractor will be stopped after an additional 15 days, taking the total period to 60 days.
The association further stated that parties failing to clear dues for three months will be blacklisted and their names will be made public. DeshGujarat
