May 11, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation will undertake welding and installation work for an emergency fire staircase near the old High Court metro station in Navrangpura from May 13 to May 27, prompting temporary night-time traffic diversions in the area.
According to an official notification, the work involves connecting an iron emergency fire staircase to the metro station located near the old High Court in Navrangpura. As large-scale welding work will be carried out near 274, Navrangpura Flat, authorities have decided to temporarily close a portion of the road in front of the site during night hours.
The traffic restriction will remain in force daily from 12 am to 5 am between May 13 and May 27, 2026.
During the work period, the road stretch from Vishram Flat to the Income Tax underpass will remain closed for around 100 metres at night.
Authorities have announced the following alternative routes for commuters:
- Vehicles coming from the Income Tax side will be diverted right from the hotel located near the underpass and can proceed towards different main roads.
- Traffic approaching from the Navrangpura Police Station side will be diverted left from Shantam Flat towards various connecting roads.
Citizens have been advised to follow the diversion routes and cooperate with traffic police during the night-time work. DeshGujarat
