Ahmedabad: In a move aimed at improving first and last-mile connectivity for railway passengers, the Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway has launched the country’s first Rapido Traveller’s Lounge at Sabarmati Railway Station and an Uber-managed Transit Hub at Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station.

According to railway officials, the initiative has been introduced to provide faster, seamless and more convenient transport connectivity for passengers travelling to and from railway stations.

The Ahmedabad Division stated that the integrated mobility facilities have already witnessed significant usage, including over 1.5 lakh bike rides, more than 2 lakh auto-rickshaw rides and over 11 lakh cab bookings.

Officials said the initiative is part of efforts to enhance passenger convenience through smart connectivity solutions and organised transport access at major railway stations in the division.
