Tribal Hindu Girl Duped into Marriage by Muslim Youth Using Fake Hindu Identity in Valsad; Held Hostage

Valsad: A shocking case of deceptive marriage, locally termed “love jihad,” has surfaced in Valsad, where a Muslim youth allegedly hid his true identity to marry an Hindu tribal girl. The truth was only revealed to the victim after the wedding, leading to her being held captive by the youth’s family.

Deception via Social Media

According to the victim’s account, the deception began online. She received a friend request from a social media ID named “Jiya Nayka,” which she accepted, leading to a year-long friendship. After Diwali, the youth took her to his aunt’s house, introducing himself as a Hindu named “Ankit,” specifically claiming to belong to the Dhodia Patel community.

When the girl’s parents contacted her the next day, it was decided that they would meet to discuss marriage. The youth arrived to discuss the marriage bringing only two other young men with him, avoiding bringing proper elders. He maintained his fake identity as “Ankit,” a Dhodia Patel, to her parents as well. Unaware of the truth, the girl was lured into marrying him.

The Shocking Revelation and Captivity

The sinister reality of the situation came to light only after the marriage. When the girl finally went to the youth’s actual home, she discovered that he was not a Hindu, but a Muslim. Following this revelation, the youth’s family allegedly confiscated her mobile phone and held her hostage inside the house. When she managed to inform her family about the reality, they were left completely shocked.

Police Inaction and Serious Criminal Allegations

The incident has sparked outrage among local community leaders and activists, who stepped in to assist the victim’s family. Representatives stated that they had to wait at the police station since 2 AM to file a formal complaint. They expressed severe frustration with the police administration, noting that a written application regarding the matter had been submitted a month or two ago, but yielded no results or action.

Community representatives demanded strict police action, pointing out that if the strict laws against “love jihad” enacted by the Gujarat Home Minister were properly enforced, such incidents would not occur.

Furthermore, activists have leveled severe criminal allegations against the accused youth, who is reportedly from the Atul area. They allege that he is involved in the illegal drug trade and liquor smuggling. Shockingly, they also claim that this is not his first offense, alleging that he has previously trapped, exploited, and impregnated two other girls.

Authorities are now being heavily pressured to take strict and immediate action against the accused. DeshGujarat
