Amreli: In a tragic incident in Khan Khijdia village of Vadia taluka in Amreli, a seven-year-old girl was mauled to death by three stray dogs while playing near an agricultural field.
The deceased child, Anjana, belonged to a migrant farm labourer family from Madhya Pradesh. The family had been residing at Vajubhai Hirpara’s farm in the village and earned their livelihood through agricultural labour work.
According to locals, the girl was playing near the field when three dogs suddenly attacked her. The animals reportedly bit her on the neck, leaving her critically injured and bleeding heavily. Her father, who was working nearby, witnessed the horrifying attack.
The child was immediately rushed to Vadia Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance service, where doctors declared her dead during treatment.
The incident has created panic among farmers and residents living in the wadi areas of the village, where stray dog attacks have reportedly become a growing concern.
Villagers stated that this was not the first such incident involving the family. About a month ago, Anjana’s elder sister was also attacked by dogs and had sustained injuries. She was later shifted to Junagadh for treatment.
Residents have demanded immediate action from the local administration to control the stray dog menace and ensure safety in rural areas. DeshGujarat
