4 Killed After Private Bus Catches Fire Near Chotila

Chotila: At least four passengers were killed and around 35 others rescued after a private luxury bus of Madhuram Travels rammed into a stationary tanker on Rajkot – Ahmedabad highway and caught fire near Chotila in the early hours of Thursday.
According to officials, the accident took place around 1:30 am. It is learnt that a dumper truck reportedly suffered a tyre burst, forcing it to slow down and stop on the road. A speeding private sleeper bus coming from behind crashed into the truck.

The collision triggered a massive fire in the bus. The dumper truck was carrying inflammable asphalt material. The flames spread rapidly and engulfed the vehicle within minutes.
The locals helped passengers by breaking the glasses of the bus so that they could escape.
Officials said four passengers died due to severe burn injuries, while nearly 35 passengers were rescued from the burning bus. DeshGujarat
