Parivahan Portal Server Upgrade Hits RTO Services Across Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Online transport-related services across Gujarat have been partially affected over the last two to three days due to technical disruptions in the Central Government’s ‘Parivahan’ portal, causing inconvenience to citizens and automobile dealers at Regional Transport Offices (RTOs).

According to the office of the Transport Commissioner, the issue has emerged due to an ongoing nationwide server upgrade and cloud migration exercise being carried out by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to enhance the efficiency and performance of the National Transport Portal system.

Officials said that technical glitches encountered during the migration process have affected several online services, including vehicle registration, tax payment, and other transport-related digital facilities in RTO offices across the state as well as other parts of the country.

The Transport Commissioner’s office stated that NIC and associated technical teams are working on a war footing to resolve the issue and restore all services at the earliest.

In view of the disruption, all RTO offices in Gujarat have been instructed to reschedule appointments of applicants wherever necessary and provide proper guidance and assistance to citizens visiting the offices.

The department expressed regret over the inconvenience caused due to the technical issues and appealed to the public to cooperate until the services are fully restored.

The Parivahan portal is widely used for various transport-related services across India, including driving licence applications, vehicle registration, tax payments, permit services, and other online transactions handled by transport authorities. DeshGujarat
