Gujarat Board Marksheet to Get Major Changes: QR Code, New Format, Size and Updated Design

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced Class 10 and 12 results, while students are expected to receive their marksheets in about a week. This year, the board is introducing major changes to the marksheet format, making it more similar to the CBSE pattern.

Three major changes in the new marksheet

1. Name format to change
Until now, students’ surnames appeared before their names on Gujarat Board marksheets. From this year, the format will change to display the student’s first name followed by the surname.

2. Separate fields for name details
Instead of displaying the full name in a single format, the marksheet will now include separate headings for Name, Father’s Name, and Surname. The move aims to make identification easier, especially for students pursuing education or work opportunities outside Gujarat or abroad.

3. QR code to replace hologram
One of the biggest changes is the introduction of a QR code on the marksheet. It can be scanned to verify authenticity, helping identify fake or duplicate marksheets more effectively.

Apart from these changes, the marksheet size will also be increased and minor design and colour changes will be introduced. The board says the new format includes enhanced security features. DeshGujarat
