Rajkot: Rajkot Police have arrested head constable Imran Rauma for allegedly raping, blackmailing, and continuously terrorizing a married Hindu woman in his neighborhood for the past year and a half. Rauma faces allegation of continuously harassing a helpless Hindu woman living in his own neighborhood for the last one and a half years by dressing her in khaki, intimidating her and making her a victim of lust. This criminal not only raped the woman, but also made extremely indecent gestures in front of the victim’s innocent daughter while naked. After the active support of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, the victim, who was living under the shadow of fear, finally showed courage and approach the Police Commissioner’s office. The police took immediate action and arrested the accused Head Constable Imran Rauma.

The victim Hindu woman cried profusely while narrating her ordeal in front of the media. She said with great anger and pain that the accused Imran Rauma was her neighbor for many years and lived in the back street. Being a neighbor, they used to have only formal conversations. One night, when the victim’s mother had gone to the village, the accused cleverly found out that only the victim’s elderly father and her little daughter, who was sleeping in the bed, were at home. Taking advantage of this loneliness when the victim woman returned home after sewing a blouse , Imran entered the house. He pressed the woman’s mouth and pulled her straight into the room. The victim resisted fiercely in her defense and even tore the accused’s T-shirt while struggling, but Imran, who became a beast, shoved the same torn T-shirt in her mouth and brutally raped her. After committing this heinous act, the accused also took objectionable photos and nude videos of the victim on his mobile.

After committing the rape, Imran made the victim helpless by wearing a khaki uniform and abusing his power. He used to threaten the victim, “I am a policeman myself, I have meetings with all the big and high-ranking officials, so the police cannot harm me. You can run wherever you want to go.” Apart from this, he used to scare the victim that if she told anyone about this, his goons from the ‘Derry’ area would come and stab her in the private part and kill her. The victim, fearing this terrible false fear of the khaki uniform and worrying about her and her family’s safety, had been enduring this hellish situation for a long time. During this period, the accused used to beat the victim repeatedly.

The climax of this atrocity came when Imran also targeted the victim’s innocent daughter. The accused used to threaten to sell the girl and used to remove his clothes in front of the innocent girl and perform extremely perverted and indecent acts. This horrific behavior had mentally scarred the girl to such an extent that she was afraid to even approach her mother. Finally, the frightened innocent daughter narrated the entire incident to her father. The accused, who committed the digital crime, had also hacked (scanned) the victim’s mobile phone and had already hatched a conspiracy to prove the victim characterless by sending obscene and dirty messages to anyone from her contacts. As if this were not enough, Imran’s wife and her brother also threatened to enter the victim’s house and stab her private parts.

Furious with the accused’s constant harassment, the victim’s family contacted the helpline of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. The leaders of the organization immediately reached the victim’s house and assured her of justice. When the victim reached the Police Commissioner (CP) office with the help of the organizations to file a complaint, the entire family of accused Imran, fearing that their crimes would be exposed later, rushed to attack the victim’s house with knives and weapons in hand. However, an alert citizen living in the neighborhood saved the victim’s mother and sister-in-law. Later, the attackers escaped after receiving a stern call from the police from the CP office.

The Rajkot police registered a case in this shocking case and as part of prompt action, arrested Head Constable Imran Rauma and sent him behind bars and has intensified further legal investigation. On the other hand, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has expressed great anger over this incident.
