Ahmedabad: Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) has announced revised timings that will come into effect from Monday, May 18, 2026.

The extended timings will benefit commuters travelling on both the East-West and North-South corridors by allowing late-night travel and improving connectivity.

On the East-West Corridor, the last train from Vastral Gam, which currently departs at 10 pm, has now been extended to 11 pm. Three additional services will run from Vastral Gam at 10:20 pm, 10:40 pm and 11 pm, heading towards Thaltej Gam.

Similarly, on the return route, the last train from Thaltej Gam to Vastral Gam, earlier scheduled at 10 pm, will also run until 11 pm. Additional trains will depart from Thaltej Gam at 10:20 pm, 10:40 pm and 11 pm.

On the North-South Corridor, the last metro service from APMC station, which previously departed at 10:10 pm, will now leave at 11:10 pm. Additional trains will depart from APMC at 10:30 pm, 10:50 pm and 11:10 pm towards Koteshwar.

Likewise, the final train from Koteshwar to APMC, earlier scheduled at 10:05 pm, has been extended to 11 pm. Extra services from Koteshwar will now run at 10:20 pm, 10:40 pm and 11 pm.

GMRC has also expanded late-evening services between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The last train from Koteshwar to Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, which earlier departed at 7:43 pm, will now operate until 9:20 pm. Additional trains have been scheduled at 8:17 pm and 9:20 pm.

Similarly, the last train from Mahatma Mandir to Koteshwar, previously scheduled at 8:09 pm, has now been extended to 9 pm. The service will continue onward to APMC via Koteshwar.

Metro officials said the decision is expected to provide greater convenience to office-goers, late-night commuters and passengers travelling between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

The detailed revised timetable is available on Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation. GMRC has appealed to citizens to make greater use of metro services, describing the system as a safe, reliable, comfortable and environmentally friendly mode of transport.

The decision to extend the timing from 10 pm to 11 pm is aimed at encouraging public transport use and reducing fuel consumption. The decision follows an appeal by Narendra Modi urging citizens to make maximum use of public transport systems, including metro services, in view of the current global situation and the need for fuel conservation. Responding to the Prime Minister’s call, a Cabinet meeting chaired by Bhupendra Patel had decided to extend metro operating hours. DeshGujarat
