Scorching Heat Continues Across Gujarat; Rajkot hottest at 43.6°C

Ahmedabad: Heatwave-like conditions tightened their grip across several parts of Gujarat on Tuesday, with Rajkot recording the highest maximum temperature in the state at 43.6°C, according to the latest IMD weather data released on Wednesday morning.
Several cities witnessed temperatures crossing the 42°C mark, indicating intense summer conditions across interior regions. Gandhinagar recorded 43.2°C, while Amreli registered 43.1°C. Ahmedabad reported a maximum temperature of 42.2°C, marginally above normal by 0.2°C, while Vadodara touched 42°C, which was 2°C above normal.
Among other major locations, Deesa recorded 41.6°C, Surendranagar reported 41.4°C, and Bhuj and Dahod registered 39°C each. Coastal regions remained relatively cooler due to the influence of the sea, with Dwarka recording 33°C, Veraval 33.6°C, and Porbandar 35.1°C.
Rajkot and Surat recorded the highest positive departure from normal temperatures at 3°C above average, signaling unusually hot conditions for this time of the season. Surat reported a maximum temperature of 38.2°C despite being a coastal city.
Weather conditions suggest that hot and dry conditions are likely to persist across several parts of Gujarat in the coming days. DeshGujarat
