Fake Fertiliser Manufacturing Unit Busted Near Anand

Anand: The Anand District Special Operations Group (SOG) on Thursday unearthed an alleged fake fertiliser manufacturing and storage facility near Vadod village and seized materials worth Rs 18.02 lakh. The unit was reportedly being operated by Bhavnagar resident Raghubirbhai Solanki.

According to police, the accused had allegedly been manufacturing and storing counterfeit fertiliser products without the required licences and blending substandard materials to market them as branded agricultural fertilisers.

Acting on specific inputs, SOG personnel raided a godown on the Vadod–Napad road, where they recovered thousands of bags of suspected fake fertiliser.

The seizure included 3,454 filled fertiliser bags, 15,090 empty plastic sacks bearing labels of prominent fertiliser brands, an electric stitching machine used for sealing bags, an electronic weighing scale, a mixing machine, and a truck.

Officials from Anand’s Agriculture Department were called to inspect the site. Samples collected from the seized stock were sent for laboratory testing, which reportedly confirmed that the material was counterfeit mixed fertiliser.

Following the findings, a case was registered at Vasad Police Station, while further investigation has been handed over to Anand SOG PSI H.R. Prajapati. DeshGujarat
