Gujarat to Witness Dry Weather for Next 7 Days, Temperatures Likely to Stay Above 40°C, No Heatwave Warning

Ahmedabad, May 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry weather conditions across Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, and the Union Territories of Diu, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli for the next seven days. The weather bulletin issued on Saturday evening stated that no significant change in maximum temperatures is expected during the coming week.

According to the IMD, maximum temperatures are likely to remain above 40 degrees Celsius at isolated places in Gujarat over the next week. Parts of North Gujarat and Kutch have already been experiencing above normal to appreciably above normal temperatures, while some areas in South Gujarat and Saurashtra also recorded above normal heat conditions.

The department said weather remained dry across the state during the past 24 hours ending Saturday morning, with no major change in temperatures. The forecast further indicates that dry conditions are expected to continue in all districts from May 25 to May 31. No weather warning has been issued for any part of the state during this period.

For Ahmedabad city and surrounding areas, the IMD has predicted a partly cloudy sky with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 42°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the IMD noted that conditions are becoming favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into more parts of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal over the next two to three days. However, no immediate impact of monsoon activity is expected over Gujarat. DeshGujarat
