Gujarat Announces Recruitment Drive for 3,966 Posts in Govt Primary Schools

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Primary Education Selection Committee has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for government primary schools operating under district and municipal education committees across the state.
A total of 3,966 vacancies will be filled under the recruitment process, covering posts of Vidyasahayak (primary teachers), special educators, and head teachers through a special recruitment initiative for persons with disabilities. Eligible candidates can submit online applications from June 1 to June 10.
As per the notification issued by the Directorate of Primary Education, the recruitment includes several categories. Among them, 987 vacancies have been announced for Vidyasahayak posts for Classes I to V in mediums other than Gujarati.
For special educators in Gujarati-medium schools, 1,841 vacancies are available for Classes I to V, while 1,067 posts are earmarked for Classes VI to VIII. Additionally, 71 head teacher positions have been reserved exclusively for candidates with disabilities under a dedicated recruitment drive.
The online registration process will begin at noon on June 1 and remain open until 5 pm on June 10. Applications must be submitted through the official website of the selection committee.
Candidates have been advised to review all guidelines related to educational qualifications, salary structure, age criteria, reservation relaxations, selection procedures, and designated help centres before applying.
The notification further stated that Vidyasahayak appointments will be conducted strictly on a merit basis, in accordance with existing education department rules and resolutions. District-wise and municipal committee-wise vacancy details will be uploaded after completion of the district transfer camp for primary teachers.
It also clarified that in cases where eligible candidates from reserved categories are unavailable, candidates from the general category may be considered as per prescribed norms. DeshGujarat
