Surat Police Arrest Another Accused in BJP Worker Murder Case; Hunt Continues for Main Suspects

Surat: Police have arrested the fourth accused in the alleged murder case of BJP Yuva Morcha office-bearer Jay Dalal from Rajasthan for allegedly assisting the main accused in the brutal killing that took place on Udhna Road No. 6 earlier this month.

The accused, identified as Puran Chandel, was allegedly accompanying the main accused, Kishan alias Chakli Soma Parmar, during the incident and fled the scene with him after the murder.

Jay Dalal, a BJP Yuva Morcha worker from Dindoli, was brutally murdered around 12:30 am on May 18 on Udhna Road No. 6, an area reportedly notorious for illegal liquor activities. Police investigations revealed that the murder was carried out by Kishan alias Chakli Soma Parmar, Pankaj Patel, and Milind Koli, all of whom allegedly have criminal backgrounds. Kishan had recently been released under parole provisions before the incident.

While three accused allegedly executed the murder, police said several others were present to provide support. Around seven assailants reportedly arrived at the spot on three motorcycles during the attack.

Following the earlier arrest of Milind Naval Koli and two of his associates from Maharashtra, a separate police team tracking other suspects achieved a breakthrough in Rajasthan.

According to police, Puran Chandel was present with the accused at the time of the murder and escaped with them after the crime. He had reportedly fled to his native village, Matrukundiya, in Rajasthan’s Udaipur district.

Acting on technical surveillance and location tracking, a team led by Udhna Police Inspector R.M. Thakor traced his movements and was dispatched to Rajasthan. Police said Puran frequently changed locations to evade arrest, but the team eventually managed to apprehend him.

With Puran’s arrest, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to four. Police teams are still camping in Maharashtra in search of the main accused, Kishan alias Chakli Soma Parmar, and another suspect, Pankaj, who remain absconding. DeshGujarat
