Watch | Number of Gujarati achievers receives Padma Award at Rashtapati Bhavan

New Delhi: Among those who were presented Padma Awards at a function in Rashtrapati Bhavan today were number of Gujarati achievers – Uday Kotak, Ratilal Borisagar, Mir Haji Kasam (Haji Ramakdu), Nilesh Mandlewala, Dharmiklal Pandya and Arvind Vaidya. The Awards were presented in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah among other dignitaries. While Uday Kotak is a renown Banker and financial expert, Ratilal Borisagar is veteran author mainly in humor domain. Mir Haji Kasam who is fondly known as Haji Ramakdu has been a Tabla player who has performed in number of Ram Katha sessions of Morari Bapu. Nilesh Mandlewala is pioneer in the field of organ donations. He is based in Surat. His organ donation drive has helped saving number of lives. Dharmiklal Pandya is Maanbhatt, who recite katha akhyan with a large pot as his instrument of music. Arvind Vaidya is veteran theater, film and TV actor. DeshGujarat
