Azerbaijan Airlines to Launch Ahmedabad – Baku Direct Flight Next Month
May 26, 2026
Ahmedabad: Air connectivity from Ahmedabad is set to expand further as a new international flight service connecting the city with Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, is scheduled to commence on June 16. The development comes after Ahmedabad Airport hinted at a new overseas route through a teaser on social media, while bookings for the service have already gone live on the airline’s website.
The new route will be operated by Azerbaijan Airlines using an Airbus A319 aircraft. The airline will operate four weekly direct flights between Ahmedabad and Baku.
In a post on X, Ahmedabad Airport wrote: “Your next international escape is preparing for take-off. A land where ancient flames meet futuristic skylines, rich heritage blends with modern charm, and every corner tells a timeless story awaits. Stay tuned for the next international connection from Ahmedabad.”
Though the airport did not officially reveal the destination, the teaser strongly hinted at Baku. The assumption gained further credibility as bookings for the route have already begun on the airline’s website, with economy-class fares starting at around $150.
Flights departing from Ahmedabad to Baku will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The service is scheduled to depart Ahmedabad at 2:20 am and arrive in Baku at 5:40 am local time, with a flight duration of approximately 4 hours and 50 minutes.
Meanwhile, return flights from Baku to Ahmedabad will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The return flight will depart Baku at 7:50 pm and land in Ahmedabad at 1:20 am the following day, covering the journey in around four hours.
The launch is expected to enhance international travel options for passengers from Gujarat and provide improved connectivity to the Caucasus region, which has increasingly emerged as a popular tourism destination among Indian travellers. DeshGujarat
