Heat Discomfort to Persist in These Parts of Gujarat Till May 28: IMD
May 26, 2026
Ahmedabad: While parts of Gujarat await pre-monsoon rain activity, coastal regions of Saurashtra-Kutch are set to face uncomfortable hot and humid conditions over the next three days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing warnings from May 26 to May 28.
The weather department said hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places across coastal Saurashtra-Kutch, creating discomfort due to high moisture levels and elevated temperatures. The alert has been issued for districts including Kutch, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Bhavnagar and Amreli.
The warning comes as temperatures continue to remain high across the state. Ahmedabad recorded the highest maximum temperature in the region at 43°C during the last 24 hours. Maximum temperatures are likely to remain above 40°C at isolated places across Gujarat over the next seven days.
According to the IMD bulletin issued on Tuesday, there is unlikely to be any major change in daytime temperatures during the next three days, although a gradual fall of 2–3°C is expected later in the forecast period.
However, a shift in weather is expected from May 30 onwards, as isolated districts in North Gujarat are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.
The IMD said conditions are also becoming favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon over parts of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal during the next two to three days. DeshGujarat
