Halol: JSW MG Motor India has begun production of the MG Majestor at its Halol manufacturing plant in Gujarat, positioning it as India’s first D+ segment SUV.

Designed for buyers seeking a blend of premium features, rugged capability and a commanding road presence, the MG Majestor is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque.

According to the company, the SUV is equipped with an advanced four-wheel-drive system featuring 10 off-road modes and segment-first triple differential locks at the front, rear and centre. Additional features include crawl control and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The MG Majestor also offers 219 mm of ground clearance and an 810 mm water-wading capability. JSW MG Motor India claims the vehicle is the longest, widest and tallest SUV in the D-segment category.

Commenting on the development, Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director of JSW MG Motor India, said the start of production marks an important milestone as the company prepares to introduce a new benchmark in the premium SUV segment. He added that the MG Majestor combines engineering strength, advanced capability and a commanding presence in line with evolving customer preferences.

The SUV will be offered under the company’s ‘Complete Peace of Mind’ ownership package, which includes a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five labour-free services.
