Gujarat ATS, Indian Coast Guard Seize 115 Kg Cocaine Off Kutch Coast

Ahmedabad: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), in coordination with the Indian Coast Guard, seized around 115 kilograms of cocaine during a joint search operation conducted along a sea route in the Kutch region.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment was allegedly being smuggled into India from South American countries through Pakistan before being routed toward the Gujarat coast.

Officials said the estimated international market value of the seized cocaine is around Rs 1,150 crore, making it one of the significant drug seizures in recent times.

During the operation, one accused was arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt. Authorities are currently interrogating the arrested individual to gather further information about the network involved in the operation.

The Gujarat ATS, along with other investigating agencies, has launched a wider probe and is conducting searches to identify and trace other individuals linked to the international drug trafficking network.

More information is expected to be revealed later in the day during an official press briefing by the Gujarat ATS. DeshGujarat
