Mega Block on Vadodara Railway Division; Ahmedabad–Mumbai Shatabdi Express Among Trains Affected

Ahmedabad: Several trains passing through the Vadodara division will be affected on May 27 due to a 5.30-hour mega block scheduled for bridge re-girding work between Vasad and Ranoli railway stations, railway officials said.

According to the Western Railway, the block will be in effect from 11:15 am to 5:45 pm for re-girding work on Bridge No. 624 (up line) between Vasad and Ranoli stations in the Vadodara division. The maintenance work is expected to impact train operations, leading to cancellations, rescheduling and regulation of multiple services.

The development comes days after a block was undertaken at Vadodara station for yard remodelling and electronic interlocking work.

As part of the changes, Train No. 19036 Maninagar–Vadodara Intercity Express scheduled to run on May 27 has been completely cancelled. Similarly, Train No. 19035 Vadodara–Maninagar Intercity Express and Train No. 12930 Vadodara–Valsad Intercity Express operating on May 27 have also been fully cancelled.

Railways further announced that Train No. 12010 Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Shatabdi Express will be rescheduled by 40 minutes on May 27.

Meanwhile, Train No. 22960 Jamnagar–Vadodara Intercity Express will be short-terminated at Ahmedabad and partially cancelled between Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

In addition, the timings of several trains will be regulated due to operational reasons:

  • Train No. 16533 Bhagat Ki Kothi–KSR Bengaluru Express will be regulated for 55 minutes.
  • Train No. 12477 Jamnagar–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express will be regulated for 50 minutes.
  • Train No. 20626 Bhagat Ki Kothi–MGR Chennai Central Express will be regulated for 55 minutes.

Railway authorities have advised passengers to check train schedules and updated timings before commencing their journey to avoid inconvenience. DeshGujarat
