Several Air India Flights from Ahmedabad Airport to Be Cancelled from June to August

Ahmedabad: Air India has announced a series of flight schedule adjustments between June and August 2026, citing operational constraints. These include airspace restrictions and a rise in operating costs amid the hike in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices. The move will impact several domestic and international routes connected to Ahmedabad, including flights to London, Delhi, and Mumbai.

As per the airline website, “Some Air India flights operating between June and August 2026 have been adjusted due to operational constraints, including airspace restrictions and increased operating costs. Customers are advised to review the impacted schedules below before travelling.”

Customers affected by the cancellations will be offered re-accommodation on alternative Air India flights, complimentary date changes, or full refunds, wherever applicable.

Among the major international changes, Air India has cancelled its weekly Ahmedabad–London Gatwick (LGW) service, AI 159/160, operating on Saturdays from August 8 to August 29. The suspended flights include departures from Ahmedabad at 1:10 pm and return services from London at 8:00 pm.

Several Ahmedabad–Delhi and Ahmedabad–Mumbai sectors will also see disruptions through June and July. Flights AI 423/424 between Delhi and Ahmedabad, scheduled in August, have been withdrawn, while multiple daily services on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad route, including AI 493/494, AI 2503/2504, and AI 2915/2916, will remain suspended during various periods.

Delhi–Ahmedabad routes have been among the worst affected. Air India has cancelled AI 809/810 for the entire June–July period, along with AI 1787/1876 and AI 2545/2546 on selected dates. Services AI 2946 and AI 2959 operating between Ahmedabad and Delhi will also remain suspended on multiple days across June and July.

Key Ahmedabad routes affected:

  • Ahmedabad–London Gatwick (AI 159/160) – Suspended on Saturdays from August 8–29
  • Ahmedabad–Delhi (multiple services including AI 423/424, AI 809/810, AI 1787/1876, AI 2545/2546, AI 2946/2959)
  • Ahmedabad–Mumbai (AI 493/494, AI 2503/2504, AI 2915/2916)

The cancellations are expected to affect both domestic and international passengers travelling through Ahmedabad during the peak summer and monsoon travel period.

“In continuation of our previously announced adjustments to select international services between June and August 2026, we have temporarily rationalised operations on certain domestic routes during the same period, with a reduction in frequencies on select routes. These adjustments are driven by the sustained impact of high fuel prices on overall operations. Air India will continue to monitor demand and operating conditions closely, with a view to restoring frequencies as conditions stabilise. Passengers impacted by these changes will be proactively assisted with re-accommodation on alternative flights, complimentary date changes, or full refunds, as applicable,” said the Air India spokesperson.
