Rajkot: More than two months after the local body elections, the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Thursday finally got its new leadership, with Dr. Nehal Shukla being appointed as the city’s 23rd mayor.

Dakshaben Vasani has been named deputy mayor, while Paresh Pipaliya has been appointed chairman of the standing committee. Hiren Khimaniya has been named leader of the ruling party, and Sanjaysinh Rana has been appointed party whip (dandak).

The newly appointed office-bearers will officially take charge for the next two-and-a-half-year term. DeshGujarat
