Surat Gets New Mayor

Surat: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced the new office-bearers of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), appointing Mayaben Mavani as the city’s new mayor.
Sudhakar Chaudhary has been named deputy mayor, while Rajan Patel has been appointed chairman of the standing committee. Alpaben Mehta has been appointed leader of the ruling party, and Urmila Tripathi has been named party whip (dandak). DeshGujarat
