Western Railway Regularises Bandra-Ajmer Special Trains; To Halt at Udhna Amid Surat Railway Station Revamp

Mumbai: In view of the heavy travel demand during the summer holiday season, Western Railway has announced the regularisation of two special trains operating between Bandra Terminus and Ajmer via Surat, introduced a new weekly superfast special train between Dadar and Prayagraj, and extended the services of popular special trains to Indore and Ahmedabad.

Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek said that Train No. 19626/19625 Bandra Terminus–Ajmer Weekly Express (via Jaipur) will now operate as a regular service. The train will depart from Bandra Terminus every Monday at 8:35 am and reach Ajmer at 9:10 am the following day. On the return journey, it will leave Ajmer every Sunday at 6:35 am. The train will halt at key stations, including Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota and Jaipur.

Similarly, Train No. 20999/20995 Bandra Terminus–Ajmer Weekly Express (via Chittorgarh and Bhilwara) has also been converted into a regular service. The train will depart from Bandra Terminus every Sunday at 2:40 pm and arrive in Ajmer at 8:15 am the next day. On the return journey, it will leave Ajmer every Saturday at 5:50 pm.

Due to ongoing redevelopment work at Surat railway station, this train will temporarily halt at Udhna instead of Surat until August 23, 2026.

To cater to the growing demand from passengers travelling to Uttar Pradesh, Western Railway has also introduced Train No. 04140/04139 Dadar–Prayagraj Superfast Weekly Special. A total of 16 trips will be operated up to July 12, 2026. The train will depart from Dadar every Sunday at 12:15 am and reach Prayagraj at 5 am the following day. En route, it will halt at Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Agra Idgah and Kanpur Govindpuri stations.

Meanwhile, Western Railway has extended the operation of Train No. 09085/09086 Mumbai Central–Indore Bi-Weekly Special until July 28 owing to strong passenger demand. Train No. 09087/09088 Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Weekly Special has also been extended until July 30.
