Gujarat Govt Allots GJ40 RTO Code to Vav Tharad District

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has allotted a separate Regional Transport Office (RTO) code, GJ40, to the newly formed Vav Tharad district, which was carved out of Banaskantha district last year.

With the introduction of the new code, all vehicle-related services in Vav Tharad district, including registration of new vehicles, ownership transfers and other transport department procedures, will be carried out under the GJ40 series.

The decision is expected to improve traffic and transport management while making vehicle registration processes more efficient for residents of the district. The move will also reduce the need for people to travel to other districts for transport-related work.

The separate RTO code is expected to simplify administrative procedures, save time and costs for vehicle owners, and support the district’s overall development by providing dedicated transport infrastructure and services.

The newly assigned GJ40 code will be applicable to all categories of vehicles registered in Vav Tharad district. Future registrations, transfers and other RTO-related transactions in the district will be processed under the new code.

Residents have welcomed the decision, saying it will make access to transport services more convenient and reflect the district’s separate administrative identity. DeshGujarat
