June 10, 2026
Anand: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has caught a field engineer associated with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0 red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 8,000.
The arrested accused, Jayeshbhai Dahyabhai Jadav, works as a field engineer with WAPCOS Ltd. under PMAY 2.0, while his accomplice, Naginbhai Rajubhai Tadpada, remains absconding.
According to the ACB, house assistance of Rs. 4 lakh was sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the name of the complainant’s father. For processing this assistance, both the accused together sought a bribe of Rs. 50,000. The complainant was asked to pay Rs. 10,000 after receiving the first instalment of assistance amounting to Rs. 70,000.
It is alleged that accused Tadpada had already taken Rs. 2,000 from the complainant, and the remaining Rs. 8,000 was being demanded. Since the complainant did not want to pay the bribe, he approached the Anand ACB Police Station and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint, the ACB set a trap on Tuesday. During the trap, accused Jayeshbhai Jadav demanded the bribe of Rs. 8,000 and was caught red-handed by the ACB team while accepting it. The entire bribe amount was seized during the trap. The ACB has registered a case of criminal misconduct against both the accused for acting in connivance with each other. Further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
