ED Ahmedabad Attaches ₹2 Crore Assets of Western Railway Employee

Ahmedabad: The Zonal Office of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), on Thursday announced that it has issued a Provisional Attachment Order (PAO) under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case involving Prashant Baldevbhai Rabari, a Porter/Box Boy with Western Railway. As per the ED, the accused adopted corrupt practices and thereby acquired multiple movable and immovable properties and assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The ED initiated the investigation on the basis of an FIR registered by the Gujarat Police under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, disclosing scheduled offences under the PMLA.
The ED investigation revealed that Prashant Baldevbhai Rabari, during his employment as a Porter/Box Boy with Western Railway, allegedly amassed disproportionate assets worth approximately Rs. 2.58 crore in the form of movable and immovable properties held in his name and in the name of his wife, Smt. Amulben Prashantbhai Rabari, through corrupt and illegal activities during the check period from 01.01.2017 to 02.02.2021.
After conducting a thorough investigation, the ED, Ahmedabad, has issued a Provisional Attachment Order attaching immovable properties valued at approximately Rs. 2.00 crore, acquired through the direct utilisation of illegally generated funds. DeshGujarat
