Ahmedabad: One person was dead in hit-and-run road accident near Vyasvadi char rasta in Ahmeadbad, early in the morning on Sunday.

At around 2:15 am, car collided with a motorcycle carrying three youths. The impact threw all three riders onto the road. Passersby rushed them to Civil Hospital, where one of the injured later died during treatment.

The incident, captured on a nearby CCTV camera. The motorcycle was travelling from Akhbarnagar towards Subhash Bridge. The car, approaching from Bhimjipura, allegedly struck the bike before its driver fled the scene.

Police later identified the car driver as Narendra Vaghela and found that he did not possess a valid driving licence. The B Division Traffic Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

According to police, the car driver has filed a complaint alleging that the motorcycle, carrying three persons, was being ridden rashly and that the rider was under the influence of alcohol. Police said the claims, including whether the biker had consumed alcohol, are being verified as part of the investigation. DeshGujarat
