Ahmedabad DEO Imposes ₹10,000 Fine on Anand Niketan School
July 01, 2026
Ahmedabad: The City District Education Officer has fined Anand Niketan School, Shilaj, Rs 10,000 for failing to display its approved fee order on the school’s notice board and website, as mandated under the Gujarat Self-Financed Schools (Fee Regulation) Rules, 2017.
The penalty was imposed following an in-person hearing held on June 29. In its order, the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) said the school had violated Rule 7.6, which requires all self-financed schools to prominently display the committee-approved fee order for the current academic year on both the notice board and the official website.
The FRC observed that the lapse amounted to non-compliance with government directions and imposed a Rs 10,000 penalty, noting that it was the first instance of such a violation by the school.
The committee has directed the school to deposit the fine into the government treasury within two days. It has also asked the school to immediately display the approved fee order on its notice board and website and submit photographic evidence of compliance. DeshGujarat
