188 Govt Quarters Worth ₹60.68 Crore Ready for Inauguration in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will e-inaugurate 188 modern government housing units, built by the Gujarat government’s Roads and Buildings Department for government officials and employees, in Ahmedabad on July 12. These four multi-storey residential towers have been constructed at a cost of approximately ₹60.68 crore.

The inauguration will take place as part of a broader event involving the inauguration and foundation-laying of various development projects in Ahmedabad.

According to the state government, the project aims to provide quality housing equipped with modern amenities to government officials and employees near their workplaces. A total of 188 housing units have been developed under this project, benefiting the families of Class-1, Class-2, and Class-3 officials and employees.

The housing complex comprises flats across various categories: 40 units in the ‘E’ category, 52 in the ‘D-1’ category, 52 in the ‘C’ category, and 44 in the ‘B’ category. These units will be allotted to 40 Class-1 officials, 104 Class-2 officials, and 44 Class-3 employees.

The ‘E’ category residential tower in Shahibaug features amenities such as a modern drawing room, dining area, spacious kitchen, office room, bedrooms (including a master bedroom), a balcony, a wash area, a garden, and modern staircases.

Similarly, a multi-storey ‘D-1’ category residential tower has been constructed in the Sundaram Colony of L.D. College of Engineering (LDCE). A ‘C’ category residential tower, comprising a ground floor plus 13 upper floors, has been built opposite the Shahibaug Police Stadium, while a ‘B’ category tower (ground floor plus 11 upper floors) for government employees in the Photolitho Press Colony has been completed and is ready for inauguration.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, state government ministers and officials, senior officers from the Roads and Buildings Department, and a large number of citizens are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.
