Gujarat Completes Over 50% of Average Seasonal Rainfall in Monsoon 2026

Surat: After the heavy rains over the last few days, Gujarat has completed over 50% of its seasonal rainfall. The state has received 472.85 mm of seasonal rainfall so far, which is 52.03% of the state’s annual average rainfall of 908.88 mm.

As per the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA), South Gujarat has received the highest rainfall as of this morning, recording 1,177.98 mm, which is 76.39% of its seasonal average, followed by Saurashtra at 330.24 mm (43.33%) and the East-Central region at 353.87 mm (43.21%). Meanwhile, North Gujarat has received only 254.88 mm, accounting for 34.90% of its average seasonal rainfall, while Kutch has witnessed the least amount of rainfall at 92.90 mm, which is 8.59% of its seasonal average.

Talukas in South Gujarat have topped the rainfall chart. The top 10 talukas as of 25 July 2026 are as follows:

1. Kaprada (Valsad): 2,676 mm

2. Umargam (Valsad): 2,539 mm

3. Pardi (Valsad): 2,194 mm

4. Nanapondha (Valsad): 2,188 mm

5. Khergam (Navsari): 2,176 mm

6. Chikhli (Navsari): 2,171 mm

7. Valsad (Valsad): 2,088 mm

8. Waghai (Dang): 1,908 mm

9.Vapi (Valsad): 1,899 mm

10. Ambika (Surat): 1,854 mm

Meanwhile, during the last 24 hours (from 24 July 2026 to 6:00 am on 25 July 2026), the highest rainfall in the state was recorded in Santalpur taluka of Patan district at 381 mm. So far, out of the state’s 268 talukas, 27 talukas have received more than 1,000 mm of rainfall.
