Ahmedabad Police Book Cosmetics Factory Owner for Illegal Storage of 32 LPG Cylinders

Ahmedabad: The CID Crime’s Ahmedabad Zone has registered a case against the owner of a cosmetics manufacturing unit in Dhamatvan village of Daskroi taluka after allegedly finding 32 commercial LPG cylinders stored without the required permissions, posing a potential fire hazard.

The action followed a tip-off, based on which a CID Crime team raided the factory, where face wash, hand wash, shampoo and other personal care products were being manufactured under the Tiber River Naturals brand.

During the inspection, the factory owner produced documents related to trademark registration, a Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) licence and GST registration. However, while searching the first floor of the premises, officials found a room stocked with commercial LPG cylinders.

According to the complaint, the seized stock included nine Indane D-32 commercial cylinders and 23 Aegis commercial LPG cylinders, both filled and empty, with a total estimated value of ₹36,450.

Police said the factory owner failed to produce a valid licence for storing the cylinders, fire safety clearance or purchase bills for the stock. Considering the potential fire risk, the CID Crime team sealed the room containing the cylinders in the presence of independent witnesses and seized the entire stock.
