Reliance Jio Leads Active Mobile Subscriber Growth in June 2026 with 3.33 Million Additions

Mumbai: Reliance Jio added the highest number of active wireless subscribers among all telecom operators in June 2026, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Jio’s active (VLR) subscriber base rose by 3.33 million to 498.90 million, ahead of Bharti Airtel’s addition of 2.92 million; Vodafone Idea and BSNL/MTNL recorded net declines. Jio’s active base is the largest in India, with a 41.5% share of the country’s 1,201.06 million active wireless subscribers.

Jio remained India’s largest wireless (mobile) operator with 503.58 million subscribers at the end of June, a 39.3% market share, and added 2.15 million subscribers during the month.

In wireline, Jio retained its position as the country’s largest fixed-line operator with 15.63 million subscribers, a 32.7% share, adding 144,057 connections in June.

Jio strengthened its lead in 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) with 9.11 million subscribers, 70.5% of India’s 12.94 million 5G FWA base, and the highest monthly FWA addition of 145,790. Jio also continued to be the only operator reporting 5G Unlicensed Band Radio (UBR) fixed-wireless subscribers, a base of 4.93 million after adding 201,302 during the month.

India’s total telephone subscriber base stood at 1,348.08 million at the end of June 2026, with a net addition of 4.98 million during the month.
