Controversial Social Media Influencer Kirti Patel Arrested by Surat Police from Surendranagar

Surat: Controversial social media influencer Kirti Patel, who has frequently been in the spotlight for her controversial social media posts and statements, was arrested once again early Thursday morning from the Ratanpar area of Surendranagar.

The arrest was made in connection with a case registered at Pune Police Station in Surat over allegations of criminal intimidation, defamation and other offences. A joint team of Surat and Surendranagar police carried out the operation. Following her arrest, Patel was brought to Surat for further interrogation and legal proceedings.

According to police, the complaint was filed by Bhavnagar-based businessman Raju Bhammar against Kirti Patel and suspended Bhavnagar woman constable Nayana Baraiya at Pune Police Station in Surat. The complainant alleged that the two defamed him and his family by posting abusive and defamatory content on social media. He also accused them of threatening him through phone calls and messages.

After registering the FIR, Pune Police launched an investigation using surveillance and local intelligence. Acting on specific information about Kirti Patel’s whereabouts, a special police team reached Surendranagar and arrested her. She was subsequently brought to Surat, where she will be questioned as part of the investigation.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and efforts have also been intensified to trace suspended constable Nayana Baraiya, who has been named as a co-accused in the case.

Following her arrest, Kirti Patel will be produced before a court, where police will seek her remand for further questioning. Investigators are also examining other aspects of the case, including newly created social media accounts and other digital evidence. Further details are awaited. DeshGujarat
