Stray Cattle Menace: Vadodara Biker Killed After Crashing Into Cow on Road

Vadodara: The stray cattle menace continues to pose a serious safety hazard on roads in Gujarat, with one person killed and another injured in two separate accidents involving cows in and around Vadodara.

In the first incident, 30-year-old Gaurangkumar Shankarbhai Rathwa, a resident of Shubh Tenement on Ajwa Road, died after his motorcycle collided with a cow near the Chhota Udepur toll plaza.

According to police, Rathwa was returning to Vadodara from Chhota Udepur on the morning of August 1 when a cow suddenly wandered onto the road, causing the accident. He suffered serious injuries and was initially taken to a private hospital before being shifted to Sayaji Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Chhota Udepur police have registered a case and initiated further investigation.

In another incident, 28-year-old Ajay Rameshbhai Puwar, a resident of Makarpura GIDC, was injured after his motorcycle hit a cow on Vadsar-Jupiter Road at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday.

Police said the cow suddenly came onto the road, leaving Puwar with little time to react. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was admitted to Sayaji Hospital for treatment.

The two incidents have once again highlighted the persistent problem of stray cattle on roads, which continues to endanger motorists despite repeated civic drives to remove roaming animals from urban areas. DeshGujarat
