Ahmedabad: A man from Gujarat who returned to India from the US under the voluntary departure programme was arrested after immigration officials allegedly found him travelling on someone else’s passport.
According to an FIR registered by Delhi Police at IGI Airport, the man arrived on August 3 aboard United Airlines flight UA-082 after opting for voluntary departure from the US.
During immigration checks, officials verified his travel documents through the PRIDE immigration database and found that the passport he was carrying had been issued in the name of another man from Gandhinagar.
The passenger was identified as a resident of Kheda district in Gujarat. Officials alleged that he had fraudulently used another person’s passport to travel.
