Passenger Held at Ahmedabad Airport with ₹65.7 Lakh Gold Concealed Inside His Body

Ahmedabad: Customs officials at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport have arrested a 24-year-old passenger after allegedly recovering gold concealed inside capsules hidden in his body.
According to the Customs Department, the passenger, a native of Godhra, was intercepted by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) after arriving from Jeddah via Doha on Sunday. During the examination, officials found 467 grams of gold paste concealed inside his body.
The capsules were removed under medical supervision. The recovered gold paste was subsequently processed into a 24-carat gold bar weighing 422.8 grams and valued at approximately ₹65.7 lakh.
The gold bar was seized, and the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. DeshGujarat
