RSS Chief Bhagwat to Address Indian-American Gathering at MSG in New York

Washington: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to address members of the Indian-American community during his visit to the US later this month as part of the organisation’s global outreach marking its centenary year.

Bhagwat will speak at the ‘Universal Oneness Celebrations’ in New York on August 29, organised by the American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD).

According to AHEAD Forum, the event is expected to attract significant attention in the US and internationally, with Bhagwat’s address being the main highlight.

More than 5,000 Indian-Americans are expected to attend the event at Madison Square Garden, which will also include cultural programmes and performances.

During his US visit, Bhagwat is also scheduled to attend at least two private events in New York before travelling to Canada. AHEAD Forum is arranging transportation for attendees from various parts of the northeastern and Mid-Atlantic states.

Bhagwat last visited the US in 2018, when he attended the World Hindu Congress in Chicago.

Earlier this year, RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale visited the US, UK and Germany as part of the organisation’s centenary-year global outreach. During the visits, Hosabale held interactions with intellectuals, academics and policymakers to discuss the RSS’s objectives and address what the organisation described as misconceptions about it.
