AMC Water Supply to Face Disruption in Parts of Ahmedabad on Aug 18-19
August 17, 2026
Ahmedabad: Water supply in several areas of Ahmedabad’s West Zone is expected to be affected on August 18 and 19 as the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) carries out repair work on a leaking water main line.
According to the AMC’s Water Project Department, leakage has been detected near J.P.’s Chali in Sabarmati on the 1,600-mm-diameter Western Trunk Main Line. The pipeline carries water from Kotarpur Water Works to several areas, including Sabarmati, Nava Wadaj, Naranpura, Stadium, Navrangpura, Paldi and Vasna wards.
Repair work on the damaged pipeline has been scheduled for August 18, 2026. Due to the work, evening water supply from distribution stations dependent on the Kotarpur Western Trunk Main will not be available on August 18.
On August 19, water supply in the affected areas will be provided during the morning and evening, depending on the quantity of water available.
The AMC has urged residents in the affected areas to take note of the disruption and store sufficient water in advance as per their requirements. Citizens have also been requested to cooperate with the civic authorities during the repair work. DeshGujarat
