Kathiyawadi Restaurant Among 3 Food Units Sealed in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Food Department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed three food businesses after inspections found expired food products, unhygienic conditions and food samples that had earlier been declared uncertified.

3,000 kg of expired food found at Rakhial godown

The AMC sealed Shri Krishna Sales Corporation, Shed No. 15, Godown Nos. 1 and 3, Jai Mangal Estate on Rakhial Road.

During the inspection, officials found around 3,000 kg of expired food products stored at the premises. The inspection team also observed a lack of hygienic conditions at the business unit.

Kathiyawadi restaurant sealed over uncertified paneer sample

The AMC also sealed Harihar Kathiyawadi, located at 1-GF, Marigold Complex, Safal Park Road, South Bopal. The action was taken after a paneer sample collected from the establishment during an earlier inspection was declared uncertified.

J.B. Dairy and Parlour sealed over ghee sample

The Food Department also sealed J.B. Dairy and Parlour, located at 8/A, Bhagwati Kunj Society, Ravi Nagar, Jivraj Park, Jodhpur. The action followed the earlier declaration of a ghee sample as uncertified.

The AMC said its Food Department will continue intensive inspections of food business units across the city. Strict action will be taken against establishments found operating without a valid FSSAI licence or violating food safety regulations.

The civic body said action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) and the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporations (GPMC) Act against units found violating the prescribed rules. DeshGujarat
